I wanted to do something different this week.  I have been evaluating software product design, however, something that has been on my mind a lot is receipts –the really, really long ones that include a lot of excess and redundant information.  Especially the ones that always print out from the grocery stores (WHY???).  A lot of information can be accessed digitally, especially via QR codes.

What is a reasonably relevant receipt nowadays? Which customers request receipts and what do they do with the receipts?

In contrast to the dutifully long receipts with redundant information, this is an information-dense label from Dirk’s Fish, a local fishmonger.  There is an entire recipe (albeit, a short one) on here!

Amazing how much info Dirk’s Fish included on this label!

Continue with the Receipts saga!
